Note: Dogs are pack animals and do not do well away from other members of their pack. The adopter is the alpha member of the pack, and the dog or puppy needs as much one-on-one contact with the alpha as possible. For this reason, all Route 66 Rescue Inc. dogs are adopted to inside homes only. They must be on leash, or inside a secure fence when outside, and not left outside alone when no one is home. Invisible fencing does not qualify as protection since other animals and strangers have access to the dog. The dogs must be returned to Route 66 Rescue, Inc. if ever given up by the adopter. Romeo is a very sweet boy to people and loves to be next to his person. He understands what a person is talking about and listens very well. He is a very mannerly boy and wants to please. He is a big talker and loves for his person to go out in the backyard with him. He doesn't get into a person's face, but loves to be petted and brushed.

Romeo would be good as the only dog. He has a little bit of food aggression and at times is territorial. A fenced yard is a must, and he does not like a crate. He will make someone a very good personal companion. He would be a phenomenal therapy dog.
