Roman - Medical Needs's Story
Dear lovebug Roman is losing his home due to their serious health issue, and he has a few of his own! He was treated for high heartworms in 2022; his heart was damaged so he is on meds for that. He also has a thyroid problem, so he has meds for that. And he has arthritis and needs monthly shots for that!

He is very overweight, at about 50 kg/110 lbs, due to fluid retention and he carries some extra fat we think as well. If he could lose some weight, it would help him get around easier. Thankfully, his bloodwork and chem panel results are all normal as of 3 July 2026.

Roman is 9 years old and is currently in Kentucky. We can transport him to Ontario, Michigan, Ohio or Kentucky. He is fully vetted.

He is wonderful with all dogs, large, small, and tiny, and he is excellent with people too. We don't know about cats, but his personality is relaxed overall. See more photos in the comments.

Please reach out to our volunteers if you are already registered as a foster with our rescue, or fill out this application:

https://www.coonhoundrescue.ca/foster-application
