Rolo gets to the end of the long lead, sits down in the grass, and turns back to check that you are still coming.<br/><br/>He is a three month old male rottweiler mix, black with tan points on his legs, his chest and his muzzle, and a pair of tan eyebrows that move around while he watches you. His ears still fold over at the tips. He weighs fourteen pounds right now. He came to Petersburg Animal Care and Control as a stray on September 15, 2026, so we do not know anything about the life he had before this one.<br/><br/>He is very sweet, and he would rather be touching somebody than not. He is playful, and he will keep a game going as long as you want to, and then he comes and puts himself against your leg and stays there. He is three months old, which means almost all of the dog he becomes is still up to whoever takes him home.<br/><br/>Being honest about what we do not know. Rolo has not been around children or cats that we know of, so we cannot tell you how he would do living with either. He is a puppy, which means house training, chew management and basic manners are all still ahead of him. He is going to be a medium to large dog when he is grown, and we are looking for a home that is ready for the training that goes with one.<br/><br/>We prefer to schedule appointments for meet and greets to make sure someone is available to spend time with you. The shelter is open Monday through Friday, 12pm to 4pm, and appointments outside of those hours may be available based on volunteer availability.
