Rocky's Story

Rocky is a 1.5 year old pure-bred Golden Retriever. He's a goofy, loving family dog, and has never known trauma. Rocky came to us from a very loving home that had exhausted all means to overcome a child's pet dander allergy to no avail. He adores children and has lived with them his whole life. Rocky is the kind of dog who will absolutely melt your heart and is exactly what you look for in a Golden Retriever. Rocky has never had a canine sibling but enjoys his dog friends at the dog park. He is crate trained, house trained, loves car rides, and knows some commands including "sit," "inside," "eat," "paw," and goes potty on command. Rocky is good on a leash but does pull a little as he's used to having a backyard. He loves all toys, all people, and all affection. Rocky is microchipped and up to date on vaccines. He is scheduled to get his neuter at the end of the month.

If youre looking for a loyal, affectionate, and joyous family dog, Rocky might just be your guy. Apply to adopt at CRAPrescue.org/application.

Adoption process: After your phone screening, we can schedule a meet and greet/the start of your foster-to-adopt trial. All adoptions have a 2 week minimum foster-to-adopt trial to make sure that the pet is the right fit for your home, and vice versa. Rocky's adoption fee is $300, which would be due after the foster-to-adopt period. If you are located outside of Texas, we offer to-your-door transportation and have so many happy families as references. We are very transparent about the process so feel free to ask any questions.

Code Red Animal Project Inc.'s Adoption Policy
All of our adoptions are foster-to-adopt, giving adopters the opportunity to have a trial period. We firmly believe that it is impossible to know if a pet will be a good fit for your home based on a brief encounter. A trial period allows you to see the pet in your home as they decompress and find comfort, and introduce them to different situations and settings that are important in your life. Prior to finalizing adoption, we ask that the pet be seen by your vet so that your trusted veterinary team can assess the animal's health, note vaccination records, and prescribe 6-12 months of heartworm prevention (for dogs).
