Rocky's Story

Meet Rocky: A Gentle, Easygoing Senior Companion Looking for a Forever Home!

At 9 years old and 52lbs, Rocky found himself at the shelter in February after coming in with a possible owner. He had a microchip, but sadly no one came to reclaim him. He immediately stole the hearts of staff and volunteers, who described him as a calm, affectionate, and gentle boy. With the help of a dedicated foster, our team at Dog Coalition LA was able to get him out of the shelter and into a home in April.

Now in his foster home, Rocky is settling into a comfortable routine and showing what a lovely companion he is. He’s a happy, affectionate senior who enjoys being close to his people and will often seek out attention from his foster. Rocky is a quiet dog who rarely barks and appreciates a calm environment. He enjoys walks and has been doing well on pack walks with other dogs, taking time to sniff and explore along the way. He’s learning structure and routines, including crate time, and responds well to verbal guidance. He is fostered with other dogs and has shown some playful moments with them, but is just as content relaxing on his own.

Rocky would do best in a home that matches his calm and easygoing nature. He would do well in a home with another dog or dogs given the right match, or would be perfectly happy as a solo companion. With a low-to-medium energy level, Rocky would enjoy daily walks, time outdoors, and plenty of cozy downtime with his person.

What You Should Know About Rocky:

- A sweet 9-year-old, 52lb senior looking to spend his golden years in a loving forever home

- Gentle, affectionate, and calm temperament with a quiet and easygoing personality

- Would be a great match for someone seeking a relaxed friend for walks, companionship, and peaceful days at home

- Could be a good casual errand buddy or occasional adventure companion for non-strenuous outings and activities

To meet Rocky, please fill out an adoption form on dogcoalitionla.org/adopt and follow his foster @olderdogfoster and @dogcoaltionla for updates!
