Rocky is a handsome, 7 yr old, 14 lb. Pekingese. <br/><br/>Rocky is an attentive, happy, and playful Pekingese who just happens to be mostly blind. He can see some shadows and movement but must be leashed-walked so he doesn’t bump into anything. Rocky is very happy and learns to navigate his surroundings quickly. <br/><br/>This little guy’s favorite activities are eating, walking 2-4 times/day, playing with toys, and of course TREATS! He has an uncanny sense of finding the toy baskets in the house. <br/><br/>He absolutely LOVES to ride in the car (seat-belted in of course). Rocky’s ideal home is quiet, with an experienced Peke owner, and as an only dog. His owner will be a special person who understands his disability and Peke disposition and is willing to work with him. Like most Pekes, he takes a while to warm up to new people but once you earn his trust, you are his person! <br/><br/>He must be monitored every 6 months to ensure he hasn’t developed glaucoma. Rocky is on inexpensive anti-inflammatory drops (Neo-Poly-Dex) for his right eye. Rocky is a good patient at the vet. <br/><br/>The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME (NO CHILDREN OR GRANDCHILDREN UNDER 18 YO). <br/><br/>We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business. <br/><br/>Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, NC to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports. <br/><br/>Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines, and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing. <br/><br/>Adoption fee is $400 (which includes a couple of bottles of eye drops, which he is very good about taking, and one month of heartworm prevention).
