Rocko's Story

Meet Rocko! This handsome fellow was found wandering in a Spring neighborhood in the heat of summer! His current foster, who is also his Good Samaritan, plucked him off the hot streets and took him home to bask in the AC.

Rocko will turn two years old in January so he's still just a youngster. He is a Rottweiler/Bulldog mix by best guess and he weighs approximately 50 lbs. He is a medium size dog but is very solid, as you can imagine from his breed mix. He is very playful with his two foster siblings, is great around people and kids above about 8 years of age. He is energetic but is also adept at "couch potato" mode. Rocko knows "sit" and "down" but will do whatever it takes to get a treat!

Although Rocko is capable of lounging around most of the day, he does appreciate toys to occupy his time, as well as any affection you can lay on him. His laid back temperament, squishy face and adorable underbite make him popular among his neighbors.

Despite being heartworm positive, Rocko is in good health. He is currently on an accelerated slow kill protocol with Advantage Multi so should test negative for heartworms by late summer 2024.

Rocko would do well in a home where has a canine sibling to play with and is not left alone for long periods of time. He will do best with plenty of exercise, toys, and lots of affection, which will come easy once you are introduced to his friendly temperament and big personality.

If you would like to meet this handsome boy, please go to www.newbestfriend.org and submit an adoption application. Our adoption fee is $350 and includes vaccinations, chip and neuter.

NOTE: We do not adopt outside the Greater Houston area.
