Rocco's Story

Meet Rocco: part-time chaos gremlin, full-time lover boy 🐾💛

Found wandering the streets of Greece, NY—skinny, uncertain, and clearly let down. Rocco hasn’t had the easiest start. But you’d never guess it from the way he loves now. At around 1 year old and 35lbs, this bully mix is soaking up the good life and learning what it means to feel safe.

Rocco is a social butterfly who lives with multiple dogs and plays like he’s training for the Puppy Olympics sometimes it’s WWE-level wrestling, sometimes it’s chill time with his bestie. He can get a little carried away (he is still a young pup), but he redirects well and settles nicely with a quick reset.

He adores people and greets his favorite humans with an enthusiastic full-body wiggle that could power a small city.
Other dogs? Loves them.
New places? Loves that too.
Cats? Never met them
He also walks nicely on leash and enjoys getting out to explore with his people.

Rocco is currently working on house training and making steady progress. He’s eager to learn and truly wants to do the right thing.

Toys are his passion… briefly. He’s a certified de-stuffer, so tough chews are a must. Because of his past and experiencing hunger, he’s still learning that not everything is edible, so supervision is important.

Rocco did have a few nip incidents in a previous foster home that wasn’t the right fit for him. Since moving to his current foster, where he has structure and understanding, he has been thriving. His past uncertainty led him to make some poor choices, but with the right guidance, he continues to show just how good of a dog he really is.

Bonus feature: has politely befriended a bunny (and respects its spicy attitude).

Rocco is equal parts goofy, loving, and learning—a dog who didn’t get the start he deserved but is making the absolute most of his second chance. All he needs now is someone willing to keep showing him the way 💛

Please apply at: https://www.againstalloddzaa.org
