Robby's Story

ONE SPECIAL LITTLE (well not quite little) BOY!

You probably wonder how we ended up with a dog here who is much bigger than the small-medium dogs we normally take in. But if you see how cute and friendly he is you will understand why we couldn't say "No". When I met him I couldn't believe how much cuter he is in person than in pictures, and you can see he is adorable in the pictures.

Robby is a Golden Doodle who will be 6 months old on 5/7. He is affectionate, playful, smart, inquisitive, and full of puppy energy. He is crate trained and making good progress on house training. He's using the doggy door now to go outside and he is dry in the crate at night.

He takes correction well and will leave something alone after you tell him no. He loves to chew on chew toys, will play fetch, and enjoys exploring our fenced backyard. He needs an active family and would likely do well with another active dog. He thrives with attention and loves to be with people. He’s really a darling dog.

Just remember he is still a puppy, and he will need grooming, which can be expensive. Make sure you are prepared for both issues. Of course we all love puppies but they do have lots of energy and take some work.

According to his foster family this little boy is a dream.

If you are interested in Robby our application can be found at www.homesfurhounds.org

He is located in Williamsburg, Va.

Homes Fur Hounds, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
1. Once you have identified the dog(s) you are interested in meeting, you must submit an Adoption Application. You can find the application at https://www.homesfurhounds.org 2. Be patient. We occasionally have a high volume of applications, especially on puppies. 3. If your application is approved you will be contacted to arrange a meet and greet with the dog(s) you are interested in meeting. Whenever we have more than one applicant who is approved, we set up the meet and greet in the order in which the applications were received. 4. We are a small rescue group and do require home checks. Therefore, we only adopt to VA, NC and MD. Exceptions are made for medically needy or seniors if no qualified applicant is located in our adoption area. 5. We do keep applications on file for 6 months, so even if you aren’t selected for a particular dog, if you see another dog of interest, let us know and we will consider your application at that time. 6. Please don’t be offended if you are not selected to adopt. We try to match the dog with the BEST home for them. Just because you weren’t selected for a specific dog does not mean you can’t apply for another one. 7. Our adoption fee is $300.00.
