River (PKA Butch) Rottweiler Lincoln, NE

MARR covers Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Wisconsin. River(fka Butch) is in IL currently. However, transportation is available for adoptions within our coverage area.

River is an approximately 4 year old, neutered male Rottweiler. He is UTD on vaccinations and weighs 84 pounds.

He is being rehomed due to no fault of his own, there have been changes to his previous Adopters' circumstances and he was not getting the attention and care he deserves.

River is a great boy! He loves to play ball, he loves walks, games and especially treats-which we're told he takes gently! He is a big, goofy, and playful boy. River is OK with the cat in his home now, he has not been socialized with dogs in his current home, but he did well with a small dog when tested upon initial intake; we feel he will do well with other dogs with slow and proper introductions. River has not been around children in his current home but did really well with a 7-year-old upon initial intake. He can be slow to settle down but once he does, River is content with chewing on a bone or toy near his humans.

This Good Boy loves his walks! He is good on a leash and is easily corrected if he forgets his leash manners. River is crate trained, knows sit, stay, walk and shake. We are told he does not show food aggression and he is food motivated which will help with his continued training. He is protective of his family and not a fan of strangers so slow introductions to new people are recommended. River is such a good boy and is looking for his Furever home where he can be his active and silly self!
