Meet Rita <br/><br/>At 5 years old and 92 pounds, Rita is the picture of everything we love about an English Cream Golden Retriever - gentle, loving, and quietly soulful.<br/><br/>Rita came to us from Lancaster after being used for breeding, and while her past may not have been what she deserved, her heart remains incredibly kind. She's so, so gentle and unbelievably sweet with everyone she meets. Theres a softness about her that is hard to miss. She seems a little unsure, a little quiet... and maybe just a little sad.<br/><br/>But despite it all, Rita has already stolen the hearts of our volunteers. She leans into affection, accepts love so easily, and reminds us every day what a special girl she is.<br/><br/>We know that in the right home, one filled with patience, kindness, and a cozy spot to call her own, we'll start to see that famous golden smile shine through more often. The one that says she finally feels safe, happy, and home.<br/><br/>Rita is ready for a new chapter.
