Rita's Story
Meet Rita!

Rita is a 3-year-old, 71 lb chocolate girl who came to us after her owner passed away. She arrived scared and nervous, but she's come a long way since then and has really blossomed in foster.

She's a calm, low-energy girl who is easy to walk and appears to be fully house trained. She's happiest when she can simply hang out with her people and enjoy a quiet routine.

Rita also gets noticeably excited when she sees other dogs. She loves running the fence with her canine friends and has shown positive interest in other pups while in our care.

It's been really rewarding to watch Rita go from a frightened dog who wasn't sure what was happening to a confident, happy girl who knows how to enjoy herself. Her foster home has given her the chance to show who she really is.

Rita needs a calm home, someone willing to let her settle in, and a family to love her.

As always, we strongly recommend that resident dogs meet any new potential canine family members\. If bringing a resident dog for a dog to dog test, please bring proof of Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines.

Rita is in foster care! To set up an appointment with their foster, please reach out to our Foster Coordinator Stephani at (336) 937-1867.
