RITA's Story

APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/
We must have an application to move forward.

In foster near Tumwater, WA

RITA is an absolutely sweet and easy-going female dog. Totally EASY PEASY great dog. She sleeps on dog beds, doesn't potty inside, quickly potties on the leash outside and doesn't chew anything she should not. She is not fussy and will even eat kibble w/o fresh pet! We rarely say an adopter doesn't need a crate. However, we think with Rita you likely do NOT need one! That has been our experience.

She definitely is mixed breed. Her body style and size is that of a Patterdale Terrier... a breed from Northern England bread to be strong and sturdy...capable of withstanding cold, wet, and windy weather. Rita is just that...She is 27# but not very large or tall. She has fairly short legs. The phone app scanned her picture suggests that she might also be Schipperke. She is 7 yrs old but often acts like a puppy when running and playing with the rest of the dogs when she was in rescue in Texas. She is calm and very VERY quiet and loves attention. She is easy on the leash; rides well in in the car. She also totally left the cats in rescue alone in Texas. Her foster in Tumwater does not have any cats.

Could definitely live in an apartment. We have literally so far not heard any sound(s) from her!

She would be good as a companion with walks around the block or visits to the lake. I would not put her with playful children. I don’t believe she’d do anything other than go to a different room.

If you have another dog, likely it would be best if it was an older more chill type dog. In Texas she played with many other dogs. Since being in WA, which is only a very short time, she has only been around young dogs and she is not interested in playing with them. Of course, this could be she hasn't known them very long at all and in time perhaps that would change?

Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. You
will receive the dog's folder with all the printouts proving the medical treatments received.

Adoption Fee: Includes all of the vetting and transportation.

questions, you can email us at shaynesrescue@gmail.com

You can also go to our Facebook page...
https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/
and LIKE us to help us out.

Shayne's Rescue's Adoption Policy
Please understand we spend all of our available resources and time saving dogs from death. We are all volunteers. Please fill out an application if you have an interest as then we can approve you to adopt any pup/dogs from us. There is no point in sending in an inquiry w/o an application, as we cannot consider someone or have them meet a dog until we have approved your application. You can ask questions in the application. We think we are most reasonable to adopt from, all we ask is you will provide a loving and supportive home as a pet guardian for the dogs entire life. If something major unforeseen occurs you will always return the dog to us, never to a shelter or anyone else. If the dog is ever to go anywhere but back to us, we do need to approve that person/family beforehand.
