Meet Ripley (ADOPTED!)

**RIPLEY HAS BEEN ADOPTED!**Pal's Place would love to introduce to you an adorable group of six precious and perfect pups in search of homes. They were rescued from an overburdened animal control facility in rural Kentucky and are now in a loving foster home in Chicago, waiting to meet their forever families. These sweethearts are currently about 10-12 weeks old (1/6) and are ready for families! Their mother is a 40-pound Hound/Shepherd type mix, and we do not know who the father(s) was, so breed and estimated adult size are educated guesses. We can see several breeds in them, including Beagle, Shepherd, Coonhound, Chow, and possibly some Retriever. Both parents were most likely mixed breeds, so they are probably a combination of many breeds. Five of the puppies (Rhett, Rory, Ripley, Ruthie, and Ramsey) all weigh between 13-17 currently We are expecting them to be larger-sized dogs, when fully grown, in the 50-65 pound range. One female in the litter (Raisin) is significantly smaller than her littermates and looks slightly different. She currently weighs a tiny 4 pounds, and we expect she will be a much smaller dog when mature than her littermates. It is quite possible, and in fact likely, that Raisin has a different father than the rest of her littermates. We think Raisin's father may have some Spaniel, Terrier, or even Chihuahua in his DNA. The litter consists of 3 males and 3 females. They are friendly, social, curious, and happy puppies and will make first-rate companions! Given their breed type, we expect they will mature into energetic, intelligent dogs that will do best with active families.

Puppies are adorable and fun but require a tremendous amount of time, patience, and energy during their first year or so.
Dogs this age and size need potty breaks every 2-3 hours, along with lots and lots of playtime and attention throughout the day. They will do best in homes where someone is home more often than not and with families prepared to take on crate training, housebreaking, and basic obedience training. Please consider if you truly have time for a puppy before applying, and please consult with all family members in the home before applying.

Ripley and her littermates are spayed/neutered, up-to-date with age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and started on flea and heartworm prevention. Their adoption fee to the rescue is $475. These guys are being fostered on Chicago's north side and can be seen by appointment after an adoption application has been submitted and approved by the rescue. Unfortunately, we cannot place holds on our dogs for any reason once they are available for adoption. Please be ready to welcome a dog into your home before applying. For more information or an adoption application, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com or visit http://palsplacerescue.org/adopt/ We do our best to respond to all inquiries within 24-48 hours. However, we are an all-volunteer organization and may not be able to respond for 3-5 days at times. If you are expecting a response from us, please check your spam/junk folders regularly, as our correspondence can sometimes end up in those folders.
