Rip's Story
Meet Rip — a sweet boy who’s come such a long way!

Rip is a 14-month-old Rough Collie/Australian Shepard mix, weighing about 45 pounds and likely to stay right around 45 pounds. What stands out most about Rip isn’t just his striking good looks — it’s his heart. This boy is deeply loyal, incredibly loving, and has made amazing progress in building his confidence.

When Rip first came to us, he was unsure of the world around him. Today, he’s blossoming into a happy, affectionate companion who truly enjoys life. He still has a gentle, sensitive nature, but he’s learning that the world is a safe place — especially when he has his people or at least one dog buddy nearby.

Rip will require another confident dogs in his new home. Having a canine companion helps him feel secure and continues to bring out his best self.

He loves people, enjoys snuggles, and will happily soak up all the affection you’re willing to give. Rip is great with other dogs, but does exhibit mild herd dog tendencies. He's also good with cats. He’s a nice balance of playful and mellow — happy to go on adventures but also able to settle nicely at home or in the car.

Rip is potty trained, is great with kids, is fantastic off leash with great recall and is learning to walk on a leash. He is also great on car rides. Rip is not a fan of crates, but is good left loose in the home if he is with another canine brother or sister for support. He thrives with routine, patience, and encouragement, and his progress so far has been truly rewarding to watch.

Because of his sensitive nature, Rip exhibits separation anxiety when left alone. He will therefore need a family with at least one other confident dog and will do best in a home where his family isn't routinely away from home for more than 4-5 hours per day.

Rip is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations — ready to find the family he’s been waiting for.

If you’re looking for a devoted, gentle, and loving companion who will form a deep bond and reward you with unwavering loyalty, Rip might just be your perfect match.

Send us a message or call 307.360.6000 to schedule a meet-and-greet! ???
