Rip's Story

Say hi to Rip!

We want to introduce you to Mr. Rip, a 9 month old black/white Aussie/Anatolian/Blue Heeler mix weighing approximately 60 lbs. He is neutered, up to date on shots, and has a fluffy tail.

Not much different from his namesake from "Yellowstone", Rip can be cautious around new people and may initially bark persistently; however, after a few repeated opportunities of consistent interaction, he becomes comfortable and approaches for pets. Once he gets to know you and becomes comfortable, Rip is an energetic and friendly puppy who shows his love through affection and cuddles.

He is house-trained and does not sleep in a kennel at night, as he tends to whine and bark when confined. His fosters do kennel him when we leave the house because, as a puppy, he enjoys chewing on things that are not meant for dog teeth.

Rip is playful and gets along well with other dogs. He does not require a fenced yard and has good recall. Outside, he tends to stay close to the house and does not wander off. When the resident dogs venture into the woods, Rip remains nearby and returns promptly when others go too far.

The details:

Needs fence: Must have reliable recall established before going off lead

Good with dogs: Yes

Good with cats: No exposure

Good with kids: Reported to be good with school aged and older

All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers. We need an approved application on file to set up a meeting with a dog you might be interested in. You can find our application at www.aussierescuemn.com. All dogs have an adoption fee of $400 plus MN sales tax. We pride ourselves on matches that are awesome for both the dog and your family. Aussie Rescue of MN is here for support, advice and as a safety net for our dogs for the rest of their lives.
