Riley's Story

Hi, I'm Riley! I'm a 4-year-old St Berdoodle (St Bernard - Poodle blend). I am 107 lbs of love: a gentle giant who is just happy to be here! My fosters say I'm "probably one of the easiest fosters they've ever had the pleasure of loving."

Favorite Things: Riley is a low maintenance guy, as long as there are no bunnies around. He gets along with everyone else-- including chickens, cats, and kids-- but doesn't insist on a lot of affection or attention. He just really wants to chase every bunny he sees. He truly is just a good boy.

Training & Manners: A true gentleman, Riley knows his size and will clamber up next to you but never climb on you. He is housetrained, walks well on a leash, is a good passenger on car rides, sleeps in his dog bed at night, and generally has good basic manners. Riley will alert you to a new person. He can be more timid around men at first but he does come around.

Health & Care: Riley is neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccinations. He is missing some toes, but that doesn't slow him down at all. Riley is also prone to ear infections, particularly in his left ear, so he needs ear drop medication twice per week and ear flush once per week, along with daily allergy medication (all of which costs about $160 monthly). As a poodle blend, he will need daily brushing plus professional grooming every 6-8 weeks, especially as his ear hair grows quickly and needs to be maintained to prevent ear issues. But, as the L'Oréal advert says, he's worth it!

Other Animals: Riley is great with other animals (apart from rabbits). He does well with calm, laid-back dogs, and he's even good with cats and chickens!

Children: This sweet guy is good with children of all ages.

Ideal Home: Riley would do best in a rabbit-free zone where he has enough room to roam, such as a single-family home with a securely fenced yard.

Overall: Could you give this sweet guy the "life of Riley", as he deserves? If so, visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org to fill out an adoption application. If it seems like a good match, our team will reach out with more information. His adoption donation is $400.
