Riley's Story

PLEASE NOTE: This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to Massachusetts shortly with no additional travel costs. Roughly 90% of our dogs are adopted prior to their transport up to MA and 10% are adopted locally.

Meet Riley! Riley is approximately 10 months old, 30 lbs currently and he might have some Treeing Walker Coonhound in his mix! In his foster home, he is working hard on his house training, crate training and leash walking.

He could go to a home with kids, cats, and other playful but calm dogs. High energy dogs who want to play-play-play make him nervous.

His foster says, "Riley is an incredibly sweet, loving, and good-natured dog who truly enjoys people — including kids — and even gets along well with cats. He wants to say hello to everyone and thrives on companionship. He’s easygoing and gentle, with a curious nose that’s always exploring the world around him. Riley is very food-motivated and eager to learn, which has made training a fun and positive experience. He already knows how to sit, wait patiently for his food until released, and walks well on a leash. Like many young dogs, he’s still refining his manners and learning his commands, but he responds well to guidance and consistency. He didn’t quite know what to do with toys at first, but now happily enjoys them — especially appropriate chew toys and treats. Riley would do best with a family who enjoys spending time with him, continuing his training, and keeping him mentally and physically engaged. In return, he offers affection, loyalty, and a wonderful temperament."

He is available for adoption in N Dartmouth on January 2nd.
