? Meet Riley, a 3-year-old spayed Rat Terrier who is in need of a loving forever home! Despite her tough start in life, this little girl has shown incredible resilience. Weighing about 12 pounds, Riley is fully vaccinated and heartworm negative, ensuring her good health.

Unfortunately, Riley was taken away from her mother at just 4 weeks old because her mother refused to feed the litter. Instead of finding a foster mother, the puppies were given away to different people. As a result, Riley missed out on crucial socialization skills that puppies usually learn when kept with their mothers until 8 weeks old.

To make matters worse, Riley lived in a house with a more dominant Rat Terrier who would attack her. This caused her to become timid and shy, seeking safety in hiding places. However, in the two months since her foster has had her, she has made tremendous progress. Riley is now free of fleas, her hair has grown back, and she has learned to go outside to do her business.

Riley currently stays in a large open-top kennel, which she considers her safe zone. She will retreat to it when feeling overwhelmed but eventually comes out when she feels secure. Despite her timid nature, Riley gets along well with other dogs once she gets to know them. She also absolutely adores car rides and cannot contain her excitement when it's time to hop in the car!
