Riley is a sweet, loving dog who is nearly housebroken (except for some rare morning accidents) and does great with most other dogs. He's currently in a foster home where we are getting to know him better and helping him put his best paw forward. Riley is a work in progress in the best way- we're currently focused on helping him feel his healthiest and most confident. He is currently underweight, and we are working with our vet to help him gain strength and weight. He's a sensitive soul who gets a little anxious when left alone, so he currently needs to be crated when left alone to prevent him from destructive anxious behaviors, while we help him build confidence and teach that he is safe to relax. We're exploring options with our vet, including behavioral support, to set him up for long-term success. Riley would thrive in a patient, loving home with someone who understands that anxious dogs just need time, consistency, and compassion. One thing we've learned about Riley is that having a canine companion by his side makes a real difference.
