Rider's Story

Meet Rider -- this little man is a 9 month old, 40 pound Australian Kelpie mix that bounced into our lives 6 months ago. He’s full of energy and loves to play, is loyal to people he knows and trusts, does well with kids, and can learn just about any trick in the matter of days. Some of his favorite activities are going for long runs, bike rides, and hikes and he will play fetch for hours on end. He’s a sharp little guy who is incredibly food motivated and good with all his basic commands -- sit, stay, down, roll over, and come. He's been attending doggie daycare nearly every day where he plays all day and interacts well with the training staff there.

Sadly, due to a change in life circumstances Rider's family can no longer keep him.

His ideal next home is one that has space and can meet the needs of his working dog breed. He needs a lot of land and tasks throughout the day to keep him busy and to match the physical/mental requirements of his breed. He’s not an apartment dog and needs owners who will be able to provide him with the stimulation he needs. More information on the Kelpie breed can be found in the link below:
https://www.petful.com/breeds/australian-kelpies

To be considered to adopt, you must fill out the Mutt Scouts application (link below). Please ask all questions on the app itself. We have so many applications coming in and it may take time to get back to you.
