Rico Pit Bull Terrier Mix Orange, VA

We often wish the strays that come to us could tell us their story. Unfortunately they cannot and all we can do is give them the love and care they seem to have been missing.
Such is the case with our sweet boy Rico. He was a shutdown, emaciated boy that was covered in scars and was so scared of us all he could do for the first week was sit in the kennel and shake.
But with determination.....snacks and love staff was able to break through his fear barrier and help him out of his shell.
Rico is around 2 years of age and is going to need a patient family to help him learn how to live in a home. He is very needy and insecure with new people and situations. He needs slow introductions and a calm home. He would be best suited for one with a confident dog friend and no young kids or a kidlees home may be best!
Rico is a diamond in the RUFF!!!
Rico is neutered, microchipped and is current on all vaccines including rabies. He has been given a dewormer and started on flea/tick prevention, heartworm tested (NEGATIVE) and given heartworm prevention.
