She has spent her entire life in a very different environment and has never lived in a home, so the everyday things that seem completely ordinary to us are all brand new to her.<br/><br/>Right now, Rhonda is a very shy girl. She doesn't immediately understand that people can be trusted, that a soft bed is hers to enjoy, or that she doesn't have to be afraid of all the unfamiliar sights and sounds of a home. She will need someone who understands that earning her trust won't happen overnight.<br/><br/>Rhonda is looking for a patient, gentle, and understanding family who will allow her to move at her own pace. Her adopter will need to give her time to learn how to be a companion—to discover what it means to follow her person around, enjoy affection, explore a home, and simply be a dog.<br/><br/>Rhonda will need another confident, friendly dog in the home. Having a canine companion will be an important part of helping her learn and gain confidence. She will also need a securely fenced yard, as she is not yet ready to safely navigate the world on a leash like a typical pet dog.<br/><br/>This sweet girl isn't going to walk into her new home and immediately know what to do. Her transformation will happen in little steps. Maybe one day she'll come a little closer. Then she'll take a treat from your hand. Eventually, she may decide that the couch looks like a pretty nice place to nap. And one day, you may look over and realize that the frightened little girl you brought home has finally learned that she is safe.<br/><br/>That is the gift of adopting a dog like Rhonda. <br/><br/>She doesn't need someone looking for an instant companion. She needs someone willing to teach her how to become one.<br/><br/>If you have the patience to let Rhonda's confidence grow at her own pace, a safe home, another dog to show her the ropes, and a fenced yard where she can explore, you could be the person who changes the rest of her life.<br/><br/>Rhonda's journey may take time—but she is worth it.<br/><br/><br/><br/>ADOPTION FEE: $750<br/><br/>To adopt the FIRST STEP is to complete an APPLICATION at fluffydog.net<br/><br/>Adopters must be 24 years of age.
