Rex 3424's Story
04/20/26. Hi folks, it’s me, REX, and I could really use your help finding my furever family. I don’t know why I keep getting overlooked, but I’ve been here since last June and would really like to go home.

I’m about 3–4 years old, and although I can be a bit shy at the first meeting, with time and patience I quickly warm up and smile—especially when I see my favorite volunteer, Tyla.

I love going for long walks with the volunteers and playing with stuffed toys in the office. I get along with calm female dogs (no males), although I do like Ace—probably because he’s been here as long as I have.

I would do best with a fenced yard and a Doberman-savvy owner who understands the breed and its quirks.

If given the chance, I would love to be your best friend and will guard your heart and your home with everything I’ve got. You would never have to worry about anyone sketchy getting in your home with me around.

PLEASE SHARE ME, as your share may be the one that finds my person.

Thanks.

Love, REX

11/8/25. REX has been patiently waiting since June to find his pack, and he's hoping to find his furever home before the holidays. He's a handsome blue boy who can take a minute to warm up, but once he gets to know you, he is happy to be by your side, whether it is to go for a walk or play in the office. He loves playing with toys, a luxury we suspect he never had. He lays quietly in his kennel until it's his turn to come out, but he's starting to get despondent as he keeps getting overlooked. He may be okay with another calm female or would be happy to be the only king canine in the house. Like the good loyal Dobie that he is, REX will want to do his job and may be wary of anyone new coming near his domain or his family. Since he came from MDAS, we don't have a history on him, so no children or cats for this handsome gent. With the patience, love, and the right Doberman-savvy adopter, REX is going to flourish

6/22/25. Meet REX, this pretty 4-year-old blue boy came to us from MDAS last week, so we don't know a lot about his history, but we will make sure his story moving forward is a great one. He is still decompressing but is starting to come out of his shell. He is a sweet, gentle boy and is happy and grateful when it's his turn to come out and get some attention. He seems very non-reactive around other dogs, but we haven't had a chance to test him with other dogs yet. Cats and kids are unknown. He's going to make a wonderful companion to the right adopter. Not every dog is available for adoption or need a foster - some are wards of the rescue (usually due to medical reasons, but sometimes behavioral). These dogs will always be supported by DRL. We welcome financial support for these dogs. Here are links to foster and adoption applications for those dogs who need a foster home or adoptive home.
Foster Application Adoption Application
