Remus

Remus is the last of six puppies still waiting for his forever home, and we are determined to find a home as special as he is.

Remus and his five siblings came to WAAG as part of an animal abuse case. When they arrived, they were on the brink of death. Remus weighed just one-third of what a puppy his age should have weighed, and severe mange had caused so much hair loss that he looked like the werewolf character Remus Lupin from Harry Potter, which is how he got his name!

Thankfully, that is now all part of Remus's past. With veterinary care, good food, lots of love, and dedicated foster families, Remus and his siblings have made a full recovery. Today, Remus is a happy, healthy, thriving 4-month-old Lab, Border Collie, Heeler, Malinois and Pitty mix who is ready for the next chapter of his life.

Remus is the largest of his siblings, and he is also one of the most special. He is incredibly smart, sweet, and playful, while also being confident and surprisingly calm for a puppy. He loves to learn and would thrive with a family that wants to keep his clever mind busy and continue teaching him new things.

Remus is wonderfully social and would do well in just about any home. He would be happy with kids, other dogs, or even cats. He has already overcome so much in his short life, and now he just needs someone to show him what a forever home is all about.

After watching all five of his siblings find their families, Remus is still waiting. We truly believe there is a family out there who is going to think this boy is every bit as amazing as we do. Now we just need to help them find each other.

Remus is vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and has a clean bill of health. He is scheduled for neuter and rabies. We think he is about 4 months old as of September 15, 2026. His adoption fee is $250.

Apply to adopt Remus at https://www.wahkiakumanimals.org/adopt-a-pet
