Remi's Story

Remi at 5 months old is super outgoing and was the easiest and first to catch. Knows sit instinctively and gives Pyr paw if you stop petting. Great with resident dogs and new people! Accepts a fence as the boundary. Remi was rescued along with his 3 siblings just before New Year's and is now ready for his perfect family. He has been vetted, neutered, and up to date on shots. Remi and his siblings are now in a foster home in Asheville, NC. They are completely vetted, microchipped, neutered and ready to be adopted. These puppies can't be startled by noise. We've used vacuum, music, loud landline phone, sneezing etc They are absolute angels. Leash walking is coming so quickly. They sit by the door when I make moves. They have the softest mouths. Absolutely no nipping or mouthyness Helen They like being towel dried already. It's just rain now. Ice is melted All 3 not house trained, good with resident dogs, love toys, love pets and attention. Super soft and floofy Good with other dogs and new people. Alain is a little shy.

Pyrenees Rescue of Western NC's Adoption Policy

Why A Rescue? The very characteristics that make this wonderful breed so desirable to many, can make them vulnerable to neglect or eventual surrender in the homes of those who are unprepared for the responsibilities with raising a dog with specific needs to accommodate their size, need for space, secure boundaries, and maintenance of the beautiful heavy coat. Sometimes, the family circumstances change, relocations happen, and a new home must be found. Often, the story is more tragic. Backyard breeders abound, and puppy mill rescues are brought here to find forever homes. Because the ultimate goal is to find families for the rescues, they are handled, loved, and groomed daily, socialized with the rescue volunteers and each other, so that they will be well-tempered. Occasionally, due to behavior problems related to previous abuse or fear, or advanced age or special health needs, a dog will be considered un-adoptable.
