Reese's Story

Beautiful Reese is looking for an Aussie-savvy home that understands and loves the breed just as much as she does! While she is incredibly sweet and loves people, she is a true Australian Shepherd—intelligent, active, and possessing those natural herding instincts.

Because Aussies are bred to herd and manage their environment, they thrive best when they have clear boundaries and confident leaders. Reese previously found herself in a situation where she wasn't given the structure she needed, resulting in a typical herding nip when she felt she had to take control. In the right hands, however, she is an absolute dream!

The Good Stuff:
Social Butterfly: Reese gets along wonderfully with all people and has done great with the other animals at the rescue.

Smart & Eager to Please: She is a great listener and already boasts excellent recall.

Adventure Ready: She is ready to trade trailer park life for open spaces and active owners who will take her on hikes, runs, or give her a fun job to do.

Ideal Home:
Reese needs an active, breed-experienced owner who understands Aussie body language and can provide the mental and physical stimulation she craves. Because of her herding background, she will do best in a home without small children, where her owners will protect her boundaries and keep her mind engaged.

If you love the Aussie breed, appreciate their brilliance, and are ready for an adventure buddy, Reese is waiting to meet you!

If interested in adopting, please go to dalistotherescue.com/adopt and fill out a pre-adoption application.

For any questions, CALL (989) 463 9797.
