Redford's Story

Some dogs arrive with a detailed backstory. Redford arrived with a few missing chapters.
What we do know is that this handsome young hound landed at Animal Aid after coming from an overcrowded shelter, and he's ready to leave the past where it belongs: behind him and getting smaller in the distance.
Redford is a year old and has embraced the hound philosophy that every day should contain at least one adventure and several snacks. He wants to explore every trail, sniff every sniff, learn new things, meet new dogs, and then come home and lean against his favorite human like they've been best friends forever.
He's goofy, affectionate, smart, and wonderfully optimistic. Whatever life was like before, Redford has decided that food is wonderful, people are fascinating, and every day deserves to be greeted with enthusiasm. He can be a little shy at first, which is hard to maintain when you're a hound and the world is full of people to meet and treats to investigate.
Redford is looking for a person or family to embrace the future with. If you've been waiting for a loyal sidekick with a big heart, a gentle streak, a sense of adventure, and an impressive appetite, Redford would like a word.
Actually, several words. Hounds are rarely brief.
Come meet Redford at Animal Aid Society, 80 Butler Farm Road, Hampton, VA. Visiting hours are 9 a.m. to noon, daily, including weekends and holidays.
He can't tell you much about where he's been, but he's very excited about where he's going. He'd love to go there with you.
Interested? Come for a visit any day of the week - 365 days a year between 9am - 12pm. Hope to see you soon!

PLEASE NOTE: Animal Aid Society observes a 40 mile adoption radius to facilitate post adoption support and follow ups.

For this reason, we will accept multiple applications for a dog. In the case of multiple applications, we will select the applicant that is the best fit based on the needs of the dog.
