Born October 30, 2022 Red Rover is a young red heeler with neurological issues. Our vet suspects a mild form of Cerebellar Hypoplasia. Cerebellar hypoplasia is a neurological condition in which the cerebellum—the part of the brain that coordinates movement—is smaller than usual or not completely developed. For Red Rover, this looks like small steps when walking, a lack of confidence when moving, and he absolutely HATES being picked up. Red Rover will need another confident, friendly dog in his forever home to boost his confidence and show him the ropes in life. He currently lives with dogs of all sizes and cats. Red prefers the company of other dogs to his human family members, but he is a friendly little guy. Despite the extra pep in his step, Red is a smart boy who learns routines quickly. He is not your typical, active heeler and would not succeed as a working dog. He loves to chew on bones (or anything he can get his little teeth around), wrestle with his dog friends, and lay around the house.
