Red Raspberry's Story

Born January 25, 2026, Red Rasperry is the sweetest girl you could hope to meet.

She came from an "oops" litter and all the puppies went to various rescues and Mom will be spayed so this doesn't happen again.

I'm told, Mom & Dad were Beagle & Bulldog, so Red Raspberry is a Beabull. Beabulls are known for their loving, sometimes stubborn, and playful personalities, often combining the playful energy of a Beagle with the lazy, cuddly temperament of a Bulldog.

Red Raspberry leans into her Beagle DNA when it comes to vocalization when she's protesting things in life, such as being crated when she's left alone. It's been a bit challenging for her foster as she is exhibiting some separation anxiety. But she's also just a baby and will need time. Red Raspberry would do best with an adult dog in the home to lend her support and mentorship. I think this will be incredibly impactful for her and help grow her confidence. She's currently a solo dog in foster care.

At her 1st vet appointment, March 24, she weighed in at 12 pounds and was a healthy, bright pup. It's still a little early to tell, but I think she'll grow into a medium sized dog - in the 50 - 60 pound range.

Puppies are A LOT of work and will require someone home most often. She will benefit from professional training so she can grow her confidence and become an amazing adult dog.

She will do best with an active adopter and a backyard to roam and play in. Though she's currently medium energy, she could tap into her Beagle side and need more room to sniff out all the things and work her mind and body on a daily basis.

She is not dog, cat or kid tested, but she'll be fine with any as she's just a really sweet, kind puppy.

Red Raspberry will have 1 more rounds of vaccines/dewormer/parasite prevention (3 rounds in total) at the cost of Mattie's Place at our rescue veterinarian. She will also have her spay completed in July 2026, on a non-negotiable adoption contract, at the cost of Mattie's Place as well.

Looking to bring home a great puppy? Red Raspberry might be your pup!

FROM HER FOSTER:
(April 21)

Red is such an awesome puppy and is a "go anywhere, do anything" kinda gal!

She is full of puppy energy but with good walks and play time she settles beautifully.

She is very engaging and needs to stop to greet nearly everyone we pass on the street.

Crate - when this gal is ready for bed (9-10 pm) she runs into her crate and that's that. She will sleep through the night and I need to wake her up on the morning.

She will roll over on her back for a belly rub and typically needs coaxing out of her crate.

We are currently working on her being relaxed in her crate during the day when we are out and provided she has had some exercise and is given her XL Kong, she is quiet and relaxed. She can handle a three hour stretch and I have not had any indication that she has been vocal in my absence.

Car - She travels beautifully! She happily goes into her car crate and she may whine a little at first, but will settle quickly when we get driving.

We give her a break after about 90 minutes and she will sniff around, go to the bathroom if she needs to and then she sniffs her way back to the car and puts her front paws up on the back bumper telling you she is ready to hit the road again.

Cottage - she adapted very well to being with us at the cottage in a new environment. She loved all the smells, trails, open grass to play.

Kids - She is extremely respectful of the 7 year old human in the homes boundaries.

She loves playing soccer with him and listens to him read and talk about Pokemon. She has very respectfully left all of his toys alone.

Red is very smart. She knew "sit" and possibly "down" when she arrived so we are working on "paw" and "crawl" as well as "leave it" and "out".

Red also arrived puppy pad trained and she is making fantastic progress with moving her bathroom breaks outside.

Play time - when her on button is engaged, she lights up the house. She is a bundle of puppy antics and fun. She does not hesitate to use her voice to let you know she wants to play. She does bark when she is wound up and excited and has the zoomies.

Overall Red is a very smart, active, bundle of playful puppy that bonds quickly to her people and is so happy to just share adventures with you

-------------------------------------

$875 ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES: spay/neuter, deworming, flea/tick prevention, vaccinations, dentals if needed or any added surgical needed surgical care, food, nose to tail health exam, toys, leash|collar, winter coat (seasonal), poop bags, dishes and 30 days of Trupanion pet insurance with immediate coverage on adoption day for any illness or injury not pre-existing.

---------------------------------------

To note: the above description is relevant to this dog in it's current & previous setting. Home changes & adopter personalities can bring out different behaviours not previously seen.
