Red's Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.ATDRHi there... my name’s Red. I’m about a year old, and I’ve got a brand-new start on life.
Not too long ago, I found myself in a county shelter. Now don’t feel too bad for me—the folks there treated me real kind. They fed me, kept me safe, and even gave me some love when I needed it most. But a place like that... it’s not quite the same as having a home of your own, you know?
That all changed the day my foster pops came and got me. He says I “got sprung,” which sounds pretty cool if you ask me. Now I’ve got a warm place to sleep, a whole pack to hang out with, and people who tell me I’m a very smart boy.
Speaking of that... I’m working hard on learning the doggie door and figuring out that outside is the place to do my business. I’m still getting the hang of it, but my foster pops says I’m catching on quick—and I believe him. I like making my people proud.
I love my foster pack... every single one of them. Big dogs, little dogs—it doesn’t matter. I even get along with those fuzzy little things with the pointy ears... I think they call them cats. They’re alright in my book.
But if I’m being honest... I’m still dreaming about something more.
A pack of my very own.
A place where I belong for good. Where I can curl up next to you, follow you around the house, and be your loyal little shadow. I’ve got a whole lot of love stored up, just waiting for the right person to give it to.
If you give me a chance... I promise I’ll love you more than anything.
—Red
