Meet Red!<br/><br/>Red is a handsome 75-pound country boy with a huge heart and an even bigger personality! About 5 years old, Red spent most of his life free-roaming in rural Mississippi, where he was known as the "Hwy 311 Mascot." When his beloved person passed away, <br/><br/>Red is friendly, affectionate, smart and active. He loves people and enjoys walks, outdoor adventures and being included in whatever his family is doing. He can be very enthusiastic when greeting people and may jump up at first, but he settles nicely once the excitement wears off. He has completed training responds well to direction.<br/><br/>Red enjoys other dogs and would love a canine companion to play with. Dog-savvy children over age 7 are recommended because Red is a big, energetic boy. <br/><br/>Red is house-trained and currently has free access to his foster home without being destructive. Crates are not his thing, and he is an excellent escape artist, so a home that does not require crating would be best. Car rides are also a work in progress, although he eventually settles.<br/><br/>Red's ideal home is active and loving, with people who have time to give him companionship, exercise and mental stimulation. Another playful dog and a fenced yard would be a big bonus. However with an escape artist like Red strict supervision will be needed at all times. <br/><br/>After losing the person and life he knew for years, Red deserves a family who will make him part of their everyday life.
