Reba Hound & Boxer Mix Tinley park, IL

Meet “Reba” an approximate 3 month old Hound/Boxer Mix weighing 16 pounds of big ears and wrinkles! Reba has had quite the rough start in her short life before joining Starfish. She was starved then dumped on the side of a busy road, left to fend for herself - fortunately she made it into rescue with a loving foster family. She is slowly gaining weight and her foster family is working on building trust so she understands she will never go hungry again. Reba can be shy and will need a family to go very slowly with her. She is accepting of affection and cuddles on her terms and when she is ready. Her foster family is working on building her confidence and trust so she can start to enjoy her new life. She is doing great learning the sit command, she sleeps in her crate at night, takes naps throughout the day and is working on household manners. Despite being a very active puppy, Reba is unsure of the world around her. Due to her past experiences, the perfect family would be patient so Reba could develop trust, be an experienced dog owner, have a fenced yard and kids over the age of 12. She would do really well with an older fur sibling who can help her build confidence.

The adoption fee of $500 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family.
