Razzmatazz's Story

Not all rescue groups are the same. Tazzie was rescued by a group right before she was slated to be euthanized. She was shy, scared, and aloof. The staff at the rescue didn't know how to handle her and so they left her in an outside yard, untouched, for a year and a half. When I met her she would run along the fence line barking and growling but when I got in to her yard she would become fearful and do everything in her power to keep away from me. I caught her and immediately brought her home where she has lived with me for about 2 months. My family adores her. Right from the start she was perfect in the house. She gets along with my pot belly pig, my cats, and my dogs that range in size from 10- 70lbs. She is housetrained and crate trained. She has some slight separation issues but is resolved if kept with another dog. Taz is still working on socialization. While outside she dances around like any other dog. She comes up asking to be pet and will roll over and let me scratch her tummy. However, she still barrier guards like she did when she was in the last rescue. If someone approaches the fence she will bark ferociously. All I have to do is say her name though and she is easily corrected. Inside the house she is a little more shy. She is leery of being cornered or approached quickly. She sleeps in the bedroom with me though and will always come up to the side of my bed and ask for pets and I am welcome to sit with her and give her as much loving as I want. Over time she will continue to improve. She just needs a home that will continue to socialize her and have patience with her until she gets over her previous trauma and learns to fully trust again. She really is very sweet and plays perfectly with every dog here... and there are a bunch currently. I really love her and think is amazing. She causes no problems and is a great house guest and keeps me company. However, because she could spook easily I do not recommend her for any homes with young children. If you are looking for a friend with a sad story and a soulful stare than look no further than Razzmatazz. She is a very special pet.
