Meet RAYNA

Rayna was turned in at the county shelter as a stray. She is just a puppy and it is obvious right away that she was not exposed to the very important socialization aspect of her puppyhood. Rayna takes the bunny rabbit approach: she thinks if she stays real still, you will not notice her. Rayna allows herself to be handled; she is just slowly learning to enjoy the human handling. County hand delivered Rayna to Home Fur Good. In this smaller shelter environment, Rayna will have a better opportunity to find a forever home and to be given the one-on-one attention she needs and deserves. Rayna is a Pit Bull mix, she weighs 27 pounds and is still growing, and she has a birthdate of November 4, 2019. When a dog is very shy and under-socialized, one of the best things is consistency and routine. You can see this with Rayna. Feeding and yard times happen at the same times each day and are executed by the same set of people. Rayna has learned to know and trust the people and routines. I went into her yard to hang out with Rayna for the first time. She allowed me to sit with her and pet her soft, beautiful head. But she was not showing any signs of wanting me there. As soon as she saw an employee she knew, she hopped right up, the tail started to wag, and she walked on a leash back to her kennel, as proud as punch. Rayna's transformation in just the past two weeks is nothing short of amazing. She actively seeks human interaction now and she has made several doggie friends. Rayna is a puppy and with love, patience, and time she will bring years of joy to a forever home. The adoption fee is $300 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm.
