Ray's Story

Oh Ray (aka Sprocket) you will definitely be the apple of your adopter’s eye! He is going to make an amazing companion to whoever adopts him.

We are also looking for a new foster home for Ray. HHDR has a foster to adopt program. This gives you a couple weeks with Ray and we provide all supplies and pay for everything.

Ray would love:
?? to be your #1 (but he does well with calm/coexist dogs- slow intros needed)
?? a foster/adopter that works from home or is retired (he is a velcro dog)
?? someone to take him for walks (he’s excellent on leash and his floppy ears are adorable)
?? patience and time to feel safe (he takes around 5 days to feel comfortable in a new place)
?? duck feet to chew on (they’re his favorite chews)
?? squeaky toys (because running around and fetching them is one of his favorite pastimes)
?? cuddles all the time (again velcro dog here)
?? scratches (but on his terms, he’s kind of like a cat in that sense)
?? a home with no kids or cats (he finds them untrustworthy and who are we to disagree)

Now we know folks work. We work hard so our dogs don’t have to, and well, who are we kidding, our fur kids are FURever freeloaders. He can be left alone while you are at work. It’s just not his favorite thing when you leave, but he does chill out quickly.

If you find Ray absolutely adorable like we do and want to show him all the love he deserves (who knows how long he was a stray for before becoming urgent at the kill shelter), let us know. We can tell you more about our foster to adopt program.
