Rascal D12625's Story

Rascal came from the SPCA at risk of being put down for needing a dental. Luckily, his Ruff Start Rescue foster stepped in and took him, and he is now making his way to MN for a second chance at life! He is the sweetest pup.

Rascal is the textbook definition of a lap dog. If he finds you sitting, and he will, you will soon have a furry, warm blanket snuggling you. A lot of things about living in a house are new to him, but he's been doing well using a doggy door and avoiding accidents. He will need housetraining if that isn't an option. Rascal cries a little bit in the kennel, but does settle down... he just wants to be with his people! He hasn't met cats or kids yet, but he would likely be fine, just needs some time to adjust and warm up when meeting new people. He knows some basic commands.

He would prefer to be a lap dog but every once in awhile he will opt to play chase with another dog. Rascal is so sweet and would love it if you could be at his bark and call 24/7 if possible, retired or working from home ideally! but seems to really prefer women and would really enjoy if you worked from home or are retired so he can be with you as much as possible!

If you're needing some sweet cuddles and can help Rascal be his best self, come meet this loving dog!

*This animal is a part of our "Seniors for Seniors" program where we offer senior adopters an opportunity to adopt an eligible pet at a discounted fee.*
---
Adopting a senior dog is like getting a vintage car - it comes with character, a few extra quirks, and might need a bit more maintenance. Expect occasional tune ups at the vet for oil changes (aka meds), and embrace the fact that those 'normal lumps and bumps' are just part of the well-earned charm package! Ruff Start will share all known health information with adopters and recommendations to keep your Senior dog in top shape.
Rascal is from Texas.
