Ranger's Story

Available by Advance Application Only
Adotpion Fee $220
Great Dane or Giant Breed Experience Required

Ranger was originally purchased from a breeder. He was unfortunately surrendered when his owner was no longer able to care for him. Ranger is good with children, but older children will be best due to size. He also walks well on a leash, rides well in the car, and is crate trained. Currently his favorite toy is a basketball one of the staff members brought him. It is a joy to watch him play! Ranger is neutered, microchipped, current on core vaccines and has tested negative for heartworms.
***UPDATE Although Ranger was adopted, he was recently surrendered when his owner moved. His housemate Starling was surrendered along with him, if you would like to meet her as well. Ranger is now a VERY LARGE Great Dane weighing 132 pounds. He is housebroken and does well with most dogs. However, we would absolutely recommend a meet and greet, given his size. Absolutely no cats. Ranger is also protective of his home and family. Email adoptionsmanager@hsscg.org for an application or more information. Because Ranger was heartworm positive on arrival, he is currently available as a foster to adopt.
