Ranger's Story

Meet Ranger!

This 10-pound, 2-year-old Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix (best guess) hasn't had an easy start. He was found near a taco shop, scavenging for scraps, with one eye severely damaged. After ending up in the shelter, we knew we had to step in and give him the second chance he truly deserves.

Ranger is currently being fostered with other dogs and has a bit of that 'little man' personality-but once he trusts you, he melts into the sweetest, most loyal cuddle buddy. He's learning what it means to feel safe: living in a home, having consistent meals, and not having to fight just to survive. He's looking for someone patient and kind-someone willing to show him love and help him continue adjusting to the good life.

In return, Ranger will give you unwavering loyalty and companionship If you're ready to change his world, he's ready to change yours.

Transport Available!
We offer bi-weekly transport options to:
East Coast: Louisiana, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Vermont, Rhode Island
Pacific Northwest & Mountain Region: Idaho, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Washington, Oregon, Montana
Midwest: Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Missouri, Iowa

We welcome and encourage out-of-state adopters and will assist in coordinating transport at a reasonable cost.

Sanctuary Park Rescue's Adoption Policy
All potential adopters are required to complete a detailed adoption application. Applications are reviewed to ensure the dog is a good match for the adopter’s lifestyle, experience level, home environment, and other pets. We conduct reference checks, including veterinary references (if applicable), and verify that current and past pets are up to date on vaccinations and heartworm prevention. Landlord approval is required for renters. A home check (virtual or in-person) may be conducted when appropriate. Adopters must agree to provide proper veterinary care, keep the dog as an indoor companion, maintain heartworm prevention, and return the dog to Sanctuary Park Rescue if they are ever unable to keep the animal. All adoptions require a signed adoption contract and an adoption fee to help offset medical expenses. Our goal is to ensure safe, responsible, and permanent placements that prioritize the long-term wellbeing of each dog.
