Ranger's Story

Ranger is a beautiful 65 lb. male, 8-year-old purebred English Setter that is a trained hunting dog, strong and athletic. He has lived his first 6 years of life in a rural community, hunting and fishing and rarely left alone much. He is not a kennel dog and needs to live inside with his new owner. In the last 2 years his person developed Alzheimers disease and had to move back to the city (Seattle area) where his family helps care for him, and for Ranger. His owner has moved into an adult family home where he can no longer have Ranger. Family members are caring for Ranger until he can be adopted.

Ranger does well with other dogs and cats once they get acquainted. He will do best in a home where he can be inside with his people and can give him regular exercise, a good hour a day. With regular exercise he will be an easy dog to enjoy. If he could hunt again or go fishing, he would love that as well.

Ranger will be neutered before adoption. He is completely housetrained. and does not have accidents in the house at all.

He is not leash trained well but could be. He is very smart. He is very sweet once he gets to know you but can be standoffish at first. He loves, loves to go outside and on walks. If he is inside too long, he gets restless.

Washington state - no interstate transports. British Columbia, Oregon, and Idaho homes will be considered.

Apply to adopt Ranger: https://forms.spdrdogs.org/Adoption/
