Randee Basset Hound Mix Palatine, IL

Hello, Randee here. I am a 3-year-old Basset Hound mix weighing in at 40 pounds. I came up from Kentucky with my brother, Ralphee — any “Christmas Story” fans out there?

I am a very handsome boy and a typical Hound! I’m doing well with house-breaking and will notify you that I need to go by sitting at the door, then will go potty as soon as I’m outside. I know basic commands such as sit and down. I am submissive with the other dog here and we get along great. And I’ll give a bark when other dogs pass by or if I hear the neighbor’s dog barking. But really, I’m a pretty chill dude. Birds, squirrels, and chipmunks don’t mean much for me.

I am allowed on furniture but I need a boost — there’s a lot of Hound here. If you're home I like my belly rubbed, my ears scratched, and to top it off, to snooze in a doggie bed near you. I love my walks but don't count on me for a hiking adventure. I LOVE to play with my toys; I would rather play with my toys indoors than run in the yard. As a matter of fact, if you don't have a yard, I'm not sure I'll care. I’m a good eater and eat quickly. 

I'm a good catch but don't think I'm all beer and skittles. I have one tiny imperfection, hardly worth mentioning really, but I like to be honest. No one is perfect, you know. I confess I'm a chewer! But I’m fine crated at night and while you’re gone. Basically, if you want to keep it, keep it off the floor or give me something more appropriate to chew.

It doesn’t take much to make me happy. I am a moderately active dude content with walks, happy cuddling and watching TV or chilling in my doggie bed. The point is, if I'm with you, I'll be happy. Come meet me Saturday?
