Rambo's Story

Amazing dog alert! 3-year-old Rambo is a bit of a unicorn! He’s cat, dog and bird friendly and loves people of all sizes. This special boy helped raise bottle baby kittens and was an exceptional surrogate “mom”. Rambo is very gentle and walks well on a leash. He loves car rides, giving kisses, and being around his people. Rambo’s special trick is sticking his tongue out at you if you do it to him— it’s so cute! Rambo weighs approximately 75lbs and has the softest fur. He is house trained, non-destructive inside, and crate-trained, though definitely prefers to lounge on the couch. He's never met an animal he hasn't liked and has a calm personality. He would truly make an amazing addition to any home and has the perfect demeanor and emotional intellect to be an all-star service dog. Rambo is currently in a foster home just outside of PA, in Ohio. He is available for transport within the Northeast, including Long Island.

Code Red Animal Project Inc.'s Adoption Policy
All of our adoptions are foster-to-adopt, giving adopters the opportunity to have a trial period. We firmly believe that it is impossible to know if a pet will be a good fit for your home based on a brief encounter. A trial period allows you to see the pet in your home as they decompress and find comfort, and introduce them to different situations and settings that are important in your life. Prior to finalizing adoption, we ask that the pet be seen by your vet so that your trusted veterinary team can assess the animal's health, note vaccination records, and prescribe 6-12 months of heartworm prevention (for dogs).
