Raine's Story

Raine (F) - four years old - Fort Worth, Texas

This adorable, sweet little miss is Raine, a 16lb. girl who came into rescue when her former owner could no longer care for her and her brother.

When her BFCACT foster family first welcomed her, Raine was a nervous little princess. Thanks to their patience and loving care, she has blossomed into a more confident girl who enjoys all kinds of Bichonly activities playing with her stuffies, going on nice long daily walks, and napping in the sun. At the end of the day, she loves to cuddle on the couch with her family and help them watch television.

Raine does prefer women. While she will eventually warm up to a man once she trusts him not to hurt her, it takes time, so we believe she would be happiest in an all female household or with a couple who has the patience and understanding to support her during her transition to a new home. She would be fine with older children (preferably girls) who treat her gently and respect her boundaries. She gets along with other dogs she meets but does not seem to need another pup in the home. A fenced in yard for her to explore would be a lovely bonus.

Because she bonds closely with her humans, she would thrive in a home where someone is home more often than not or works remotely. She sleeps nicely in her crate, though she would be absolutely delighted to snuggle in bed with her family.

She was recently spayed and has been fully vetted and vaccinated. Raine has some allergies, which are well managed with daily allergy medication. She is doing great with her housetraining, though her adopters may need to give her a little refresher during her first few weeks as she settles in. Experienced Bichon owners know that they can be stubborn when it comes to learning good potty habits.

Raine is a very good girl who simply needs a forever home of her own a soft bed, yummy food and treats, plenty of exercise and mental stimulation, and a family who will pamper and cherish her. That's not too much to ask for such a sweet, deserving little pup like Raine.

If you would like to be considered for adoption, please submit our application at:
https://www.bichonrescue.org/adoption-form
