Ragnar 's Story
Hi there! My name is Ragnar and I am believed to be an Australian Shepard / Great Dane mix. I am one year old and weigh about 75lbs. I was found as a stray and taken to the shelter. I wasn’t doing well in the shelter because it was so terrifying so I came into rescue.

I am a special boy because I am believed to be a double merle. Double merles have a very high chance of being blind and deaf. I am not completely blind or deaf but I am impaired. Don’t let that fool you, I am so independent and I get around perfectly but there is a possibility my sight and hearing will decline as I age.

I love to play with other dogs. I am looking for a well mannered doggie sibling to help continue my training. A pup that shows me the ways of the house and plays with me. I like kids but I think kids 6 and older would be best…you see I’m a clumsy pup and tend to forget my size. I never want to hurt anyone but I am still young. I will need a fenced in yard to go potty and so I can play. I don’t like being on a tie out or leash when I go potty.

I also love to snuggle and lay around. I really follow the lead of the other animals and people I’m around. If they are hyper I’m hyper. If they are laying around I’ll lay around.

One thing my foster family is working on with me is my resource guarding. Sometimes when I have something and another animal comes over I can get protective and not want them around my item. I have gotten so much better with this since being with my foster family but I am looking for someone experienced with dogs that understands I still need training and will be patient with me as I learn how to be the best boy.

Ragnar is neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, current on flea/tick medication, and current on heartworm preventative.

Do I sound like a perfect match for you? If so please fill out an application for me using the URL below.

Bit.ly/WHASadoptionapplication

*****Please note, Willow Haven Animal Sanctuary is a foster based rescue.
