Queen's Story

Queen is a beautiful 2-year-old pittie looking for her forever home at CCHS! This sweet girl has a playful, gentle, and laid-back personality, making her a wonderful companion for a variety of families. She enjoys playing with other dogs and has a soft, gentle play style.<br/><br/>Queen is treat-motivated and loves learning new tricks. She already knows several commands in Spanish and is eager to keep learning.<br/><br/>In her previous home, Queen did well with children. She may be more comfortable around women than men at first, but with patience and kindness, she can continue building confidence. She loves being close to her favorite person and is happiest when she's by your side.<br/><br/>If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate companion with a calm demeanor and a heart full of love, Queen could be the perfect match for you. Stop by CCHS and meet this sweet girl!<br/><br/>Queen is a VOLUNTEER FAVORITE pet! Here's what dog socializers, Olgica and Vlad, have to say about her:<br/><br/>"This doggie will steal your heart - we promise. Her genetic makeup is 99.99% angel and 0.01% dog (the remaining fraction accounted for by floppy ears, four legs, and a wiggly tail). She is sweet, loving, and friendly to everyone she meets, and at the same time a total goofball with a playful streak.<br/><br/>The best day of our week is the one we spend with this adorable lady at the park. Nothing beats her soft little licks, the way she rolls onto her back to invite some serious belly rubs, and the sincere, wide-eyed look she gives you while you're handing over a treat.<br/><br/>If we didn't already have five pets at home, she would have come home with us long ago. Please stop by to meet her and see for yourself just how precious our Queen of Hearts really is!"

Champaign County Humane Society's Adoption Policy
The first step toward adoption is coming to the shelter to meet the animals. Once you have decided on an animal you would like to adopt, you will be asked to fill out an adoption application followed by a brief interview with one of our adoption counselors. If you prefer to fill out an Adoption Application online ahead of time, please visit the CCHS website. While submitting an application online will save some time during your visit to the shelter, submitting an application online does not place a "hold" on an animal, nor is it a guarantee of adoption. It generally takes 24-72 hours for the adoption staff to complete processing applications, so we do not send animals home the same day. MULTIPLE APPLICATIONS: CCHS accepts up to three applications per pet and priority for adoption is given to the first family to submit an application. If interested in a specific animal, we recommend calling the shelter prior to your visit for more information on their status. Please bring a valid photo ID with you for your visit to the shelter. You must be at least 18 years of age to adopt from CCHS. Hours for Adoptions: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday: 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM Saturday and Sunday: 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM The shelter is closed on Tuesdays and major holidays.
