Pumpkin Spice's Story
Pumpkin Spice spends her walks checking in. Every few steps she stops, tips her head back, and grins up at whoever is holding the leash, like she wants to make sure you are having as good a time as she is.

She is a seven year old mix, and our best guess is some Chesapeake Bay Retriever and some Plott Hound. She has a red brindle coat, a white chest and white toes, and a face that has gone silver around the eyes and muzzle. She came into the shelter on October 8.

Pumpkin Spice is built like an athlete and moves like one, so she wants a person who likes to get out and walk. Give her a good one and she comes home, settles in, and leans over for a cuddle. She has gotten along with other dogs when the introduction was done properly, so a home with a dog already in it is an option for her.

A few honest things before you apply. Pumpkin Spice can clear a four foot fence, so we would like to see her go to a home with a secure, taller fence around the yard. Any dog introductions should be done slowly. We have not seen her with cats or children, so we cannot tell you how she would do living with either.

We prefer to schedule appointments for meet and greets to make sure someone is available to spend time with you. The shelter is open Monday through Friday, 12pm to 4pm, and appointments outside of those hours may be available based on volunteer availability.
