Pumba's Story

PUMBA – Mexi-Boxer Mix / 4 Years / 19kg / M-Neutered

Hey there, I’m Pumba – your potential new best friend! Not to brag, but I was a shelter favourite in Mexico and my foster family can definitely get behind why I am such a hit.

I’ve only been in my foster home for a couple weeks now, but I am absolutely loving this whole “pet dog” life! I am having so much fun playing with my canine foster-sibs, soaking up attention from my foster mom, and have found a passion for toys. I get described as kind of a unicorn dog, as I am pretty easy to love. They can’t wait to see how much I will thrive in my forever home.

As far as my training goes, I am killing it! I always want to be the best boy, so I am eager to please. I haven’t had a single accident in the house, and wait at the back door when I need to go. I am great with my crate-training, and snooze all night without a peep. I am working hard on my leash skills, and am getting used to all the noises I hear on walks.

When I imagine my ideal future home, I imagine caring peeps who will love me just as much as I’ll love them. I am generally pretty confident on my own, but love making new friends, so an existing dog in the house would be totally fine too. A secure yard or access to a fenced area would be a great bonus. I passed my cat test in Mexico, but have yet to meet any cats here yet. I also haven’t met any kiddos yet, but foster mom thinks I’d be great with older, dog-savvy kids as I can be a little clumsy when excited.

If you are keen on adopting our silly Pumba, please check out www.dibsrescue.com for the adoption process and application. His adoption fee is $750. If you are a family with kids, please check out our resources on kids and dogs before you apply (https://dibsrescue.com/kids-dogs/).
