Puddles's Story

🐾 Meet Puddles, a 5-year-old Dachshund with a big personality packed into her 13-pound frame! This sweet girl wants nothing more than to be your best friend, soaking up all the love and attention like the little queen she is. Puddles does well with other dogs and respectful children, though she may bark if kids are too energetic around her, and she would do best in a home without cats (she thinks they're just too fun to chase!). She is potty trained and currently working on her leash and kennel skills, and she would thrive with someone who is home often or patient as she adjusts--she may bark a bit at first while learning that her person will always come back.

Puddles has IVDD with some lingering weakness that causes a slight sway in her hind end, along with a small inguinal hernia that isn't bothering her. She's receiving acupuncture and takes supplements and medication to support her strength and overall well-being, so her future family should be committed to keeping her at a healthy weight and preventing her from jumping on or off furniture. Despite her medical needs, Puddles is a happy, affectionate pup who has blossomed in her foster home and loves nothing more than snuggling up close--well, maybe that and snacks (she refuses to choose!). Rescued from a Dallas-area shelter, she's ready for a loving home where she can continue to thrive and be cherished every day. 💕🐶

To apply to have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport, please visit our website at https://longwayhome.org/adopt.

❤
Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds.
