Puca's Story

Are you looking for a walking buddy? Puca is your guy! For his size, he would love, LOVE to be with someone who enjoys taking a long walk regularly. Puca came to us as a stray dog, abandoned in a dog crate with a bag of dog food. Luckily, someone called animal control and he ended up in foster care after no one claimed him.

Puca is a funny, friendly guy. He lives with cats in his foster home and really wants to be friends with them. If they are not interested, Puca respects their warnings. Puca also would love to be friends with the dogs he meets! And, Puca loves every person he meets, both kids and adults. In fact, he smiles as he is running to greet you.

Puca will likely need regular professional grooming and can be kind of squirmy if his face is touched - be sure to let your groomer know! Puca will also do best with a fenced in yard. Why? We suspect he may have come from a situation where he is was in a kennel for most of the day. That has affected his bathroom habits and he so far does not go potty on leash. He also tries to back up against something for a bathroom break, so if you have small bushes....it'll be easy to find where Puca goes potty. He will need a family who will be both patient with him as he figures out that he can be on leash to potty, and also accept that this is what he is used to.

Puca is doing great living in a home, is a very happy boy, and loves to be with people. His foster reports he is pretty quiet in the house, and have we mentioned he loves going for long walks? He is excited to help his new family get their steps in!
