Meet Propane!

When Propane first arrived as a stray, he was terrified.

This young boy would press himself against the back of his kennel, unsure of the world around him and too afraid to trust. His confidence is growing, his tail is wagging more often, and his sweet personality is beginning to shine.

Growing up in a shelter is no place for a puppy. It's loud, overwhelming, and many of the important experiences that help young dogs learn and thrive are missed. Even so, Propane has made incredible progress. He's built friendships with other dogs, learned to trust, and continues to impress everyone who spends time with him.

His canine friends, Emma and Aqua, have helped show him how to "dog," teaching him through play, patience, and gentle guidance when his puppy enthusiasm gets the best of him.

Propane would thrive in a home with another confident, friendly dog to help show him the ropes, but he would also do well with a patient family ready to help him continue building confidence and discovering all the good things life has to offer.

One of the most remarkable things about Propane is how eagerly he comes back to his person. He wants that connection. Watching him choose trust over fear is a beautiful reminder of just how far he's come.

Propane has his whole life ahead of him. Now he needs a family to share it with.

A special thank you to one of our volunteer dog trainers for spending so much time working with Propane and for allowing us to share her observations of his journey. Volunteers like her play an incredible role in helping dogs build confidence, learn new skills, and prepare for life beyond the shelter.
